Description
This Set of Coloured Shells will encourage children to explore mathematical and scientific concepts as they play with sand and water. Children will enjoy carefully placing the shells inside a range of floating containers where they can explore weight, capacity, and volume concepts. Imaginative language can also be supported as children marvel at the changing patterns and colours of the shells when placed under water.
A set of authentic natural shells can provide plenty of learning opportunities across the provision. Children can use them as they explore water and dry sand - observing and recognising their unique properties while investigating these open-ended resources. Alternatively these natural materials are great to use as themed counters during maths sorting and games.
Broader learning and development is also addressed as children develop fine and gross motor skills by handling different materials.
Naturally patterned, our Set of Coloured Shells are the perfect open-ended resource for your classroom!
