Description
Encourage investigative thinking and support young children as they develop a deeper understanding of STEM subjects with this Set of Corks. As children notice how corks float and discover different properties, or as they decide to use them to enhance their building and construction activities during woodwork, lots of learning opportunities can be celebrated.
Ensure your water and woodwork areas offer lots of opportunities for creative expression and problem solving. Offering a good range of craft materials alongside real life tools in the woodwork provision will inspire young minds as they problem solve and critically think and by providing open-ended resources to form key parts of the water provision, children will learn to persevere through the physical and creative obstacles they encounter.
Including a set of craft bottle corks, this versatile open-ended resource set will support the development of motor skills and concentration with woodwork and water challenges.
This Set of Corks includes:
- Set of bottle top corks featured in assorted sizes, approx. total weight 250g
- Suitable for age 3 and over
Please Note, for the Woodwork Provision: When providing this opportunity schools and settings MUST carefully assess children’s levels of competence and independence and judge the level of supervision that is required of children before any tools are made available to them. Make sure to introduce the woodwork resource collection carefully, setting high expectations for their use. It will be important to show children how to handle and use each tool safely so they can manage equipment independently. Once children are off to a good start, with on-going support and guidance, they will soon be able to use all the woodwork resource tools and equipment well.
